The Amber-Dry is a desiccant dehumidifier, which extracts moisture using water-absorbing crystals, at a constant rate whatever the temperature. A small heating element dries out the crystals on a rotor to provide continuous operation. The desiccant in the rotor DOES NOT deteriorate with time so the only maintenance needed is periodic cleaning of the intake air filter. At 15degC or lower, the extraction efficiency is greater than an equivalent 20 litre rated refrigerant device. (The Amber-dry maintains performance at lower temperatures, but refrigerant devices extract less as the temperature drops). Note: The Ruby Dry is the same machine in a darker grey case - product supplied MAY be a Ruby Dry - please advise us if you have a preference
