Swedish supercar maker releases teaser shot of possible new range-topper
Koenigsegg is poised to reveal a new 'megacar' called the Regera at the Geneva motor show next month.The Swedish supercar maker's latest creation could well sit atop the firm's range, because the name ‘Regera’ in Swedish means to 'reign, rule or govern'.This suggests that the Regera may be even more powerful than the existing Koenigsegg One:1, which was revealed at last year’s Geneva motor show.The One:1 is so called because it weighs 1340kg and produces 1340PS (1322bhp) from its twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine. It has a claimed top speed of 273mph.Further aerodynamic enhancements could see an improved downforce figure over the Koenigsegg One:1’s 610kg of downforce at 160mph – a match for that of the McLaren P1.With Ferrari’s hardcore track-only FXX K revealed towards the end of last year with 1021bhp – 71bhp more than the standard LaFerrari – and McLaren’s 981bhp P1 GTR also set to star in Geneva next month, Koenigsegg may already have two of the world's most powerful hypercars in its crosshairs.This latest announcement
