I’VE bought a new bike. Actually, it’s rather an old bike – a 1980s BMW R100RT like the ones the police used to ride with a big fairing and tall screen. It’s brilliant and I’ve already fallen in love with it.
read more£45,000 Audi engine upgrade
THIS is one of the most expensive performance upgrades I’ve ever seen. It’s American Audi tuners STaSIS Engineering’s R8 V10 Challenge Extreme Edition. For £45,000 UK agents APS of Brackley will take your R8 V10, fit it with a supercharger that’ll increase the power up to 710bhp, fit a special exhaust system, huge Alco brake discs, lower the suspension and bolt on special 20in alloy wheels. Sounds impressive but I’d be happy with the standard V10’s 500bhp.

I MUST make sure that I’m out of the country on May 18. There’s a classic car auction taking place at Brooklands in Surrey that will include one of my favourite cars. WE’RE about to road test the new Audi A6, but here’s news of the hot version that’s on its way early next year. The old S6 was powered by a V10 engine but the new one will have a 4.0-litre V8 engine with a single turbocharger and 440bhp. If that sounds a bit weedy there’s going to be a RS6 model as well with 550bhp.
