LOADS of cars are written off by insurance companies because they’re uneconomical to repair. Not cars smashed to bits, but category C and D cars that wouldn’t take too much to get back on the road. The problem is the high cost of spare parts. Now Vauxhall is launching its Total Loss Avoidance Programme, which sees the cost of crash repair parts cut by as much as 50%. Over 42,000 parts are included. Hopefully other companies will follow as it’s crazy to scrap cars just because they’re expensive to repair.
