Choose Your Wax
Here at Vertar we have been using Zymol for quite a number of years with outstanding results. Our experimentation and experience has lead us to help you and it is on this basis, we have put together the guide 'Choose your Wax' to help you determine which wax or glaze is suitable for your requirements when purchasing you Zymol Wax/Glaze, your Zymol Starter Kit or your Zymol Complete Kit. It is also worth noting that each 226g tub will allow you to apply layers of wax in excess of 2-3 years. Based on an average sized saloon car with applications of wax, once a month, which are not necessary. Subject to the correct maintenance routine using Zymol products and wax used.
From the Hand Crafted Range of Waxes we have: Creame, Carbon, Japon, Saab & Volvo. These waxes are the entry level consideration of the Zymol Range but by no means, produce an entry level result! In fact the levels of Carnauba at this level are already 5 to 10 times above the industry standard.
Zymol Creame Wax which contains 33% Yellow Grade Carnauba by volume, has been developed for anyone looking to place an excessive amount of layers of wax on their car and should only be considered over Zymol Carbon Wax for this Purpose.
Zymol Carbon Wax which contains 37% Yellow Grade Carnauba by volume and is a generic wax for all marques except those with a paintwork of a Japanese, Saab or Volvo origin.
The above waxes contain Brazilian No.1 Grade Yellow Carnauba to give you a great depth of shine and reflection. The next range of waxes, contain the rare No.1 White Grade Carnauba, the very highest grade available. Giving both greater protection and increased depth of shine and reflection that can only be described as a 'wet-look' finish.
Zymol Titanium Glaze (wax) which contains 51% Carnauba by volume (80% Yellow Grade & 20% White Grade Carnauba), is highly resistant to salt acids and plant sap/proteins and with the introduction of white grade carnauba is a great upgrade from the Hand Crafted Range above.
Next in the Zymol range are three marque specific waxes - Zymol Jaguar Glaze. Zymol Ital Glaze (wax) essentially for Ferrari paintwork and Zymol Glasur Glaze for Porsche have been engineered specifically to enhance further and protect the finishes of these three great marques.
Zymol Jaguar Glaze (wax) which contains 11% Carnauba Sap and 24% Carnauba Wax by volume (90% Yellow Grade), Specifically for this famous automotive marque has been Tested, Approved and Recommended by Jaguar USA, now available in the UK. Suitable for all paint types and colours.
Zymol Ital Glaze (wax) which contains 47% Carnauba by volume (90% Yellow Grade & 10% White Grade), is specifically formulated to protect and enhance the relatively soft paint finish. Developed in cooperation with Ferrari North America, Ferrari Italy and Pininfarina, Zymol Ital Glaze provides a clarity and depth of colour generally not found in the original paintwork.
Zymol Glasur Glaze (wax) contains 56% Carnauba by volume (100% Yellow Grade), is specifically formulated to protect and enhance the original factory paintwork. Developed in co-operation with the Porsche Club of America, and critically tested at various Porsche Club Concours events, Zymol Glasur Glaze provides the distinction of image and jetness of colour associated with Porsche finishes.
Now onto one of our favourite Glazes at Vertar - Zymol Concours Glaze (wax) which contains 47% Carnauba by volume but more importantly 90% of the rare White Grade Carnauba and only 10% of the Yellow Grade.
Zymol Concours Glaze is suitable for all marques of vehicles and is an upgrade from any above. The effects caused by this change in Carnauba grade are dramatic to say the least. Giving you a fantastic wet-look finish and even developing a depth of shine from light coloured vehicles such as silver, or white.
Here at Vertar we consider Zymol Concours Glaze to be the entry level to the ultimate top of the range Glazes that contain 100% White Grade Carnauba and Carnauba Sap by Volume.
Another favourite here at Vertar is Zymol Destiny Glaze (wax) which contains 51% rare Brazilian No. 1 White Grade Carnauba, you would not expect the results to be much of an improvement over Concours but as always you have to try before judging on statistics alone. The results take the Zymol range to another level with an absolutely jaw dropping effect, giving you an even greater wet look that even makes tired paintwork look amazing.
Zymol Destiny Glaze (wax) contains 51% Carnauba by volume (100% White Grade), Zymol Destiny Glaze is based on a formula first used on the 1930 Duesenberg "J" Murphy Convertible Sedan owned by Bruce Meyer and shown at the renowned Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Suitable for all paint types and colours.
After Zymol Destiny Glaze, the next wax in the Zymol exclusive range of rare white Carnauba grades is Zymol Atlantique Glaze.
Zymol Atlantique Glaze (wax) contains 60% Carnauba by volume (100% White Grade), Zymol Atlantique Glaze(wax) is based on a custom formula developed for Ralph Lauren's 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantique. Like many Zymol-prepared cars, the Bugatti won "Best of Show" at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 1990. The protective ingredients in Atlantique are clove, coconut, cinnamon bark and sunflower oils. Suitable for all paint types and colours.
The final two Zymol Glazes are the most extreme, most exclusive and the ultimate in automotive finishes you are ever likely to encounter. Both Zymol Vintage Glaze and Zymol Royale Glaze are refillable for life at not extra charge. These exclusive glazes are also increased in size with Vintage filling 623g and Zymol Royale filling 1412g. The finish and protection that is achieved from these two glazes are impossible to describe, breathtaking - if you are lucky enough to own any of these two glazes then welcome, to the exclusive Vintage/Royale club!
Zymol Vintage Glaze (wax) contains 61% Carnauba Sap/Wax by volume (100% White Grade). Zymol Vintage Glaze(wax) is based on a custom formula developed for the 1947 Bentley Mark VI Cabriolet by Franay, winner of several "Best of Shows" in its debut year on the Concours circuit. Among the protective ingredients in Zymol Vintage Glaze are Evergreen, Honeydew, Coconut, Cantaloupe and Sunflower oils. Suitable for all paint types and colours. Vintage contains 61 percent Brazilian No. 1 White Carnauba by volume, the highest in any automotive finish protective product.
Zymol Royale Glaze (wax) contains 70% Carnauba Sap/Wax by volume (100% White Grade).
Zymol Royale was originally formulated to protect the finish of the Bugatti Royale, a rare late 1920's ultra-luxury car (only about half a dozen were built) so meticulously crafted and exquisitely engineered that today it is considered a work of art. Suitable for all paint types and colours. Royale Glaze contains 70% Brazilian No.1 White Carnauba by volume.
Note: Not all waxes/glazes are available in a Zymol Starter or Complete Kit format. In these instances the products are available separately or why not give Vertar a call to discuss your requirements.
There are two final waxes that may help to cover blemishes and are heavily pigmented with red and black dye. Introducing Zymol Rouge Wax and Zymol Ebony Wax. These waxes are for flat red and black paintwork that do not have a clear lacquer over them.
Zymol Rouge Wax and Zymol Ebony Wax Contain 38% Carnauba by volume (90% White Grade & 10% Yellow Grade) and have been developed to assist in the colour correction of non-metallic red and black painted vehicles.
