We’ve all had to swiftly run round our cars to dry them before water spots form, which are very hard to remove and can badly affect paintwork. And try as you might, washing and drying will cause swirl marks and light surface scratching. Existing in-line water filters are either very expensive or have incredibly short lives, and can waste the casing, which is very environmentally unfriendly. For example, the AquaGleem filter is 2.5 litre capacity, typically retails at £55. That’s 54% more expensive than our unit costing you 38p per litre. The Race Glaze unit costs 25p per litre, as supplied with its first fill of mineral-absorbing resin,and only 8p per litre with subsequent refills ! The new Race Glaze Maxi-Filter uses a durable fibreglass tank ready filled with premium A1 grade resin (note: some budget filters use sharps – broken reject resin) and comes ready for you to add standard Hozelock-type connectors to begin use immediately. The tank is pressure tested and certified to 11 bar. Tap water enters the tank and under mains pressure is forced up through the resin bed to emerge on the outlet side as close to 0 parts per million (ppm) of dissolved solids as possible. You can use a pressure washer or just mains pressure, with no degradation of water pressure at the delivery end. And no need to empty when you have finished your wash, just trun off the mains. Using a hosepipe to wash a car uses approx. 30 litres of water (AutoExpress 21/3/2012), a final rinse only a fraction of that – we estimate 5-7 litres at most. The Heavy Duty Foam Lance attaches directly to your pressure washer to create a powerful dispenser of snow foam for Touchless car washing. Used as a Pre-Wash process, the Heavy Duty Foam Lance will mix your favourite Snow Foam with a high pressure water flow to create a thick foam which clings to the vehicle. This softens and draws off dirt and grit from the vehicles surface. After a few minutes dwell time, the foam is then removed with either the pressure washer or open hose. This process eliminates a significant proportion of the harmful dirt and grit that causes swirls on the paintwork during hand washing, and dramatically softens organic material such as manure which afflicts rural cars. New replacement resin for Race Glaze refillable Maxi water filter. This is 0ppm resin, the same as the original filter is pre-filled with. Simply tip the old resin away when water produced starts to contain dissolved solids and add the entire contents of this bag. You can tell when the old filters resin is nearing the end of its life as water will start to leave light watermarks, or you can send a sample of your filtered water to Vertar for testing. Vertar were provided with pre-production samples of this new 2012 product to test and we were highly impressed. You need very little to generate loads of dense suds which last, so the product doesn't go dead in your bucket, and the solution feels lubricated as they claim, so your wash mitt does indeed glide over the paintworks surface very easily. We managed to clean 2 cars and a van with the single bucket of product so although its more expensive than some shampoos on offer, it works out very good value, especially given its performance. We predict it will become very popular. Mere bubbles don’t clean cars though – a gentle cleansing formulation which allows your wash mitt to glide over paintwork and allow the soap to work on dirt, teasing it away from the surface cleans a car. Adding unspecified quantities of exotic natural sounding ingredients also doesn’t guarantee the perfect wash solution. Dilution ratios vary depending on local water hardness – it is misleading to state anything else, though this is a thick, highly concentrated product so you will need less than you think.

Grit Guard helps prevent swirl marks inflicted during the wash process when small particles of dirt and debris are rubbed across the surface of the paint.
