Water, formaldehyde and silicone are the enemy of tires. Water washes away the natural oils in rubber that keep it elastic. Why plastic rear screens go brittle, milky and discoloured – and how to restore them. Clear vinyl windows are made flexible by plasticisers that are easily leached from the surface. Solvents and unsuitable cleaners speed the process, leading to brittleness. Cloudiness and discolouring are caused by dirt, microscopic scratches and contaminants that penetrate the very soft surface of the vinyl. Wax and oil cause cloudiness and yellowing, so waxy dressings should be rigorously avoided. Deterioration of vinyl is accelerated by UV in sunlight, and unlike coloured vinyls, plastic windows have very little protection. The solution is to remove scratches and contamination and then, most importantly, to protect the surface with a coating that inhibits loss of plasticisers and provides UV protection. The solution is Screensheen, proven in a variety of tough environments on plastic screens. Zymol Fabrique is a phosphorous-free, solvent-free, carbon dioxide-charged dry-wash fabric cleaner designed to remove foreign matter and oils from seats, carpet and cabriolet tops without disturbing the inherent properties of the material.

Renovo Hood Reviver is the ultimate product to make old, faded, fabric convertible tops, RV and boat covers look like new. A permanent, water based dye that may be applied with either a nylon paint brush, sponge, disposable foam brush or air brush and dries in 2-3 hours. Badly faded tops may require a second coat. How To Apply Renovo Fabric Hood Reviver: Clean the surface thoroughly with Renovo Fabric Soft Top Cleaner and then allow it to dry completely. Use Masking Tape to mask off the rear window, the glass and paint. Start the application at the center section of the front of the top. Work from side to side, progressing towards the back, maintaining a "wet edge" as you work towards the rear. (The technique is similar to painting with water based paint). Immediately remove any drips on paint, glass or trim with a wet cloth. If the top is badly faded, apply a second coat after 24 hours drying time. Allow the final coat of Reviver to dry for 24 hours and then follow with a coat or two of Renovo Fabric Ultra Proofer to protect and prolong the life of your new looking top. DO NOT use on vinyl or vinyl impregnated fabric tops. When in doubt, consult the manufacturer. A 500 ml bottle will normally cover the average top with one coat.

The Renovo Ultraproofer is the absolute finest "brush on" protectant specifically formulated for all fabric convertible tops, and boat covers. Ultra Proofer protects the material from the elements, sun damage, fading, stains and waterproofs all in one operation. Contains a strong UV Inhibitor and is mold and mildew resistant. Renovo Ultra Proofer will help to prevent the harmful penetration of everyday dirt into the fibres of new and old convertible top material and help to keep the re-colour provided by Soft-Top Reviver fresher for even longer. A 500 ml bottle will normally cover the average top with one coat. How To Apply Renovo Ultraproofer: Use the Renovo Fabric Soft Top Cleaner to completely clean the top or cover prior to waterproofing. Mask off all the windows and paint and allow the surface to dry completely before applying Ultra Proofer. Use a 2" wide nylon paint brush, disposable foam brush, foam paint roller or air brush and start at the center of the forward edge of the top. Apply a thin, even coat to the top working from side to side towards the rear of the top. Immediately remove any drips on paint, glass or trim with a wet cloth. Allow it to completely dry for 24 hours before folding the top. The "water bead test" will determine the condition of existing top protectant. If water beads evenly when wet, then the existing protectant is in good condition. If water does not bead evenly or soaks into the material, then apply a coat of Fabric Ultra Proofer.

Renovo Soft Top Canvas Cleaner (500ml) is an effective liquid cleaner that will gently remove dirt, tree sap and bird droppings from all fabric tops and boat covers. Prior to application, gently brush the surface to remove any loose dirt. Shake the bottle well, pour into a suitable container and spread a thin, even coat over the surface with a sponge, 2" inch nylon paint brush or disposable foam brush. Gently agitate the cleaner with a soft bristle brush, sponge or cloth. Stubborn stains may require the cleaner to remain on the top for approximately 30 minutes and gentle scrubbing with a soft bristle brush. Be careful not to allow any brush to come in contact with the plastic window as it may scratch. To remove the cleaner, either hose off or wipe off with a wet sponge or cloth, continually rinsing the cloth/sponge in clean water. Make sure that all traces of the cleaner are removed, then allow the top to dry completely before applying Fabric Soft Top Reviver or Fabric Soft Top Ultra Proofer.

Renovo Clear Plastic and Window Polish is a great one step cleaner and polish that will remove or reduce clouding, fine scratches and help restore the transparency to all clear plastic. Shake the bottle well and apply a very small amount to a soft, 100% cotton flannel or Blu-Velvet Microfiber buffing/polishing cloth, work into the surface with moderate pressure, until all that remains is a faint haze. Burnish to a shine with another soft, 100% cotton flannel or Microfibre buffing/polishing cloth. Some areas may require 2-3 applications. Use on convertible rear windows, lens covers, brake lights, headlight covers, motorcycle fairings, airplane windows, bug deflectors, helmet visors, Lexan, Plexiglas, acrylic, etc. The absolute best product we have found to remove the "hazing" from clear plastic headlight covers. If hand application does not remove the clouding, Renovo Plastic Polish may also be applied with a small buffer or electric drill and a soft foam buffing pad. Burnish to a shine with a soft, 100% cotton flannel or Blu-Velvet Microfiber buffing/polishing cloth.

Renovo Vinyl Cleaner (500ml) deep-cleans heavily soiled vinyl and vinyl coated fabric tops, boat covers, motorcycle covers and RV covers. It will safely and effectively remove imbedded grime, tree sap and bird droppings. Brush or sponge on a thin coat, allow it to clean for a few minutes, gently scrub with a sponge, soft cloth or soft brush to loosen stubborn dirt, rinse thoroughly with water to remove all traces of cleaner and then dry. Heavily soiled or surfaces with deep graining may require the cleaner to work for up to an hour, before rinsing, and gentle brushing with a soft bristle brush to remove the imbedded dirt. Immediately remove any drips on paint, glass or trim with a wet cloth. Once the clean top/cover has completely dried, follow immediately with an application of Renovo Vinyl Ultra Proofer. Always test a small area prior to use to insure colorfastness of the material.

Renovo Vinyl Protector (500ml) conditions, protects and prolongs the life of all vinyl and vinyl coated fabric tops. Vinyl Ultra Proofer forms a UV barrier that helps prevent premature fading of vinyl and acts as a shield against the ravages of dirt, stains, tree sap and bird droppings. Clean the top thoroughly with Vinyl Soft Top Cleaner and allow the top to completely dry. Pour the Vinyl Top Ultra Proofer into a suitable container. Then use a 2” wide nylon paint brush, disposable foam brush or foam paint roller to apply a thin even coat over the entire surface. Immediately remove any drips on paint, glass or trim with a wet cloth. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours before folding the top. Do not use on fabric tops. A 500 ml bottle will normally cover the average top with one coat.
